AI4GreenSME Launches to Empower SMEs for a Sustainable Future
AI4GreenSME, a pioneering project aimed at transforming small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into sustainable leaders, has officially launched. Recognizing the urgent need to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into circular economy practices, the project seeks to equip SMEs with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive a more sustainable future.
Led by Cámara Valencia (Spain), and in collaboration with Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Vratsa (Bulgaria), MEUS (Spain), Malta Business Bureau (Malta), SciFY (Greece), OMNIA (Cyprus), and B&P Emerging Technologies Consultancy Lab (Malta), AI4GreenSME is addressing a critical knowledge gap and providing SMEs with the tools they need to thrive in the evolving business landscape.
Survey Highlights the Need for AI and Green Skills
A recent survey conducted by AI4GreenSME revealed a significant lack of understanding and skills related to AI and green technologies within the SME sector. The findings underscore the urgent need for targeted training programs to bridge this knowledge gap and empower SMEs to adopt sustainable practices.
Comprehensive Training Program to Drive Change
To address these challenges, AI4GreenSME is developing a comprehensive training program designed to equip SME managers with the essential skills and knowledge to integrate AI into their businesses for sustainable purposes. The program covers a wide range of topics, including AI fundamentals, green technologies, data management, and ethical AI practices.
Future Steps: Piloting Phase
The AI4GreenSME training program will be piloted in Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece and Malta to gather valuable insights and refine the curriculum. Following the successful completion of the pilot phase, the goal is the project to be scaled up to reach a wider audience of SMEs across Europe.
